This is a list of all the activities we recommend to do while in Costa Rica. We give you a brief explanation of each one, so you understand and learn about what is the best tour to take according to what you like. Remember you will have the option to choose what activity to do on the Reservation Form.

Aerial tram – A tram or gondola that takes you through and over the canopy of the forest

Biking – Beginners, Intermediate or Advanced.  Dirt and paved roads or trails, all are available

Birdwatching – Early morning or late afternoon tours guided by a specialist.

Canopy Tour – Known as Zip Lines. It is swinging from tree to tree using a harness.  Lots of fun and adrenaline, but not good to see wildlife

Canyoneering or Canyoning – Rappelling down waterfalls.  It is done in very controlled and safe conditions.  Almost everyone can do it.

Culture oriented visits – Folkloric dances, visit to Agricultural farms, schools and other community projects

Diving – It is required a license.  You can also take classes to get the license.

Fishing – Close to shore of deep water.  Half day or Full day trips available

Floating trip on a river to see wildlife – Inflatable boats, you don’t paddle

Hiking – Long hikes in the forest, up and downhill, usually focused on exercise.  (Compare to “Nature Walks” below)

Horseback riding – Beginner or Experienced level.  In the forest, near the ocean, through farms and rural country

Mangrove Kayaking – Sea kayaking through this unknown and fascinating habitat.  Beginners level – Single or Double kayaks.

Motor Boat Tour to see Wildlife – On slow moving rivers and lakes looking for birds, monkeys and other animals.  Guided by a specialist.

Nature Walks 1-2 hr slow walk with a naturalist guide who explains about the forest and looks for wildlife

Ocean Outrigger Canoes – Everyone paddles on this fun canoe trips to secluded beaches and snorkeling spots

River Canoe trips – Slow water with no rapids.  These trips are focused on scenery and wildlife appreciation

River Kayaking – Lessons for beginners and downriver trips for intermediate level

Sea Kayaking – Intermediate or Advanced level only – Single or Double?

Snorkeling – Tons of colorful fish, octopus, lobsters, sea stars and more

Surfing lessons – Easy waves on sandy beaches, we have the ideal conditions for absolute beginners of all ages

Underground Caves – Explore this fascinating dark world of stalactites, stalagmites, bats and insects

White Water Rafting Levels  II to IV – There are great rivers all over the country, even in the “dry season”

Humpback whales in the South Pacific Coast
